It All Began With Two Little Lines
I was thrilled to be pregnant! But as I went through pregnancy, my rose hued glasses were ripped off & I sadly witnessed the disappointing truth that too many moms experience.
There's a GIANT lack of support within the medical system for birthing people.
So, I quit my job and started Modern Moms to provide families with the care they deserve.
Morning snuggles with E; brief 5 minutes of solitude & meditation; running out of the house late (per usual).
Going on Starbuck runs with my daughter; at the yoga studio; guiding moms through pregnancy & postpartum.
Shaming birthing people or moms for their choices; unsolicited advice; mental health stigmas; people who touch pregnant bellies without asking!
Your right to a safe, informed birth; supporting moms so they can thrive; providing evidence-based info; justice for BIPOC moms; & compassionate care.
Becoming a mom is a journey filled with ups and downs. Some moments will feel like your heart can burst with love, while others downright suck.
My goal is to hold your hand through it all & help you feel heard, respected, & safe through pregnancy, postpartum & beyond.
My superpower is helping women become empowered as they pursue the kind of motherhood they actually want.... one with abundant support, love, and wellness.
I sought to do everything possible to ensure I had a good birth experience. But the birth class I took, everything I read, the midwives I chose - none of it was enough. I didn't properly prepare my body or my mind for the labor I experienced. From pregnancy complications to a second degree perineal tear, recovery was rough. But through my experience, I learned how to better support & prepare new moms for birth & motherhood.
